I’m ready and waiting…

I’m ready and waiting…

I thought the saying “Hurry up and wait” only applied to the film industry, but I can now confidently say that it valid for most things in day to day life.  I say this because I’m sitting at my gate 2 hours before my flight leaves.  Better to be early than late I suppose.  Customs was basically empty (although they say yesterday was mayhem).

My day started out with an early morning visit to the Chiroprator to make sure my back is all loosened up and ready for my crazy long day and  a half of airport travel.  Then the scramble to get packed started.  It wasn’t too bad, but thankfully Crys had come by to say “see ya in 19 days” and she helped me cut down the mount of clothing I thought I needed.  It’s difficullt to pack only what I need for a maximum of a week (I can do laundry while I’m there) and still plan for almost every climate.  The current daily highs that I will be travelling through in the massive east coast of Australia, range from 9-45 degrees!  It was challenging not to pack all of my favourite hoodies and tank tops.  But I managed to pack everything I needed and hopefully enough to keep me entertained on the lengthy plne rides.

Thanks Matt for driving me to the airport and seeing me off.  I miss you already and wish you were coming with me.

Crys, Matt gave me the envelope from you that says not to open it until I get on the plane.  I want to say in advancce of opening the envelope that you suck, because you are super cheesy and I predict that it will contain something that will either make me laugh my pants off or cry.  You do remember I’m sitting in an isle seat and can’t hide from people by looking out the window right?

Thank you to everyone for all the well wishes.  This really is the trip of my lifetime and it’s finally begun.

I’ll message when I arrive in Sydney, Australia!
