Melanoma and Art

What is Melanoma?  Melanoma is a type of skin cancer.  It is less common than other skin cancers, however it is much more dangerous than the others if it’s not caught in it’s early stages.  Melanoma causes 75% of cancer related deaths.  What a frightening statistic!

Last night was the “Under the Canopy: An MNC Fundraiser” for the Melanoma Network of Canada.  It’s their inaugural event which kicks off Melanoma Awareness Month.  It was held at the Leon’s Roundhouse in Toronto, ON.  Those in attendance enjoyed culinary delights, entertainment and an exclusive art auction.  All of the proceeds went to Melanoma Network of Canada’s programs and services.

I’m an excited to share with you that one of my photos was included in the art auction!  It was framed with a  simple white matte and a black wood thick flat frame.  I’ve posted a digital version of the image below:
