Sightseeing – Lunenburg, Nova Scotia

It’s such a rainy and gloomy winter day today, so I decided to take a look through my photos of sunny places I’ve recently visited. I can’t believe that I haven’t shared these yet!

Last September my husband and I traveled to Halifax and got the oppourtunity to spend a day in a cute old town named Lunenburg. The original layout of the “Old Town” has remained unchanged and contains some of the best-preserved wooden houses in Canada dating from the 18th century.

I loved everything about this town, it’s beautiful old buildings, the towns wonderful use of colour, the food was fantastic and just outside of the downtown was a gorgeous old school house beside a very old looking cemetery. Although I had never been to Lunenburg before, I couldn’t escape the feeling that I had seen the school house, the pink house and the cemetery before. Maybe they were used in a movie? Either way I loved Lunenburg and hope I get the chance to visit it again sometime soon.
