Bush Fires

Today we flew back to Brisbane from Cairns/Port Douglas.  It was an evening flight and we killed time in the morning/early afternoon on the beach in Port Douglas.

As we were nearing Brisbane Chantelle pointed out some bush fires that were burning jut outside of the city.  It looked as incredible as the lightning storm I had seen from above the clouds a week or so ago.  But it made me sad to know that there are going to be many many more bush fires in Australia this year.  The weather people are predicting a very hot summer.  Most states already have water restrictions as they are getting less and les rain.  Brisbane has it pretty bad.  It’s the start of summer but you wouldn’t think it with all the grass looking brown and dry.   I hope it’s a better summer here then they are predicting.
