The Monster Show!!!
I have recently checked another goal off of my checklist of things to do in my life. That goal was to show some of my artwork in a gallery.
It all began two months ago when one of my co-workers, Matt Crookshank, decided to relocate his gallery, Sis Boom Bah, to McCaul from Queen st w. in the t-dot. For the opening exhibit he wanted to showcase artwork from the different artists within the building. 35 McCaul St. is home to 3 post-production companies with many talented artists. So when Matt sent out the invite to be part of the show I jumped at the chance. I offered to help with the website design and construction. (sample artist bios can be found in the gallery)
I had a lot of positive feedback regarding my art. It was a little overwhelming. I showed two pieces in total. Both of very inspirational, colourful, outgoing friends of mine. Both pieces were created in photoshop and printed at a local t-dot printing house. I framed them with flat, thick black frames from this awesome little frame store on queen just west of bathurst (thanks Palowich).
Many artists that I work with showed their work in the gallery. I felt very privileged to be part of a show with so many very talented artists. There were nineteen artists in total. It was a really great show full of interesting artwork.
The gallery runs until June 26th so check it out. If you miss the show and want to see the art I had in the show then send me an email through the contact page.
Until next time, check out a gallery in the t-dot and support the local artist.
