This month I had the oppourtunity to see three of the best bands in the world. U2, Pearl Jam & Distrubed.

I’ve wanted to see Pearl Jam since 1995. Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam were great! I went with Matt Penny, his cousin Shannon, his sister Elaine and her friend. The lighting was awesome and we had great seats. My favourite song of the night was Betterman. Bono from U2 guest appeared for a song. Overall the sound at the ACC isn’t very good but Pearl Jam made it sound great. They played for 2 hours and 40 min.

Here is the Pearl Jam setlist:
Release, Go, Animal, Save You, Given To Fly, Corduroy, Love Boat Captain,
Small Town, Even Flow, Habit, Daughter, Better Man, 1/2 Full, Black, Do The Evolution, Rearviewmirror

1st encore:
You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away, Present Tense, Wishlist, Harvest Moon, Indifference, Alive

2nd encore:
Blood, Jeremy, Leaving Here, Rockin’ in the Free World w/Bono and Sleater Kinney, Yellow Ledbetter

It was amazing to see possibly the biggest band in the world at the moment. U2 were exactly how I had imagined they would be. The stage setup was incredible. It was a huge oval with a smaller circle stage for the band. Bono and the other members of the band would take turns walking around the oval that went through the fans on the floor. The lighting was unbelievable. At times the whole ACC would be lit up with one colour, red or black lights, it was awesome!

Here is their setlist:
City Of Blinding Lights, Vertigo / Rockaway Beach (snippet), Elevation, The Electric Co. / People I Don’t Know Are Trying To Kill Me (snippet) / See Me, Feel Me (snippet), The Ocean, Beautiful Day / Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (snippet) / Many Rivers To Cross (snippet), Miracle Drug, Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own / The Black Hills of Dakota (snippet), Love And Peace Or Else, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bullet The Blue Sky / The Hands That Built America (snippet) / When Johnny Comes Marching Home (snippet), Miss Sarajevo, Pride (In The Name Of Love), Where The Streets Have No Name, One, Ol’ Man River
encores: Discothèque / Relax (snippet), The Fly, With Or Without You, All Because Of You, Fast Cars, Yahweh, 40
comment: Daniel Lanois joined the band on One and Ol’ Man River. Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam sang with Bono during Ol’ Man River.

Disturbed was really good live too. Although their show was at the Kool Haus. They were touring for their new album “Ten Thousand Fists”. The lead singer looks and sounds exactly how I imagined he would live. The are definetly a band worth seeing.
