Noosa and a National Park in Queensland
October 21st 2008
Noosa and a National Park two hours north of Brisbane.
Today we checked out of our uber swanky hotel in Hervey Bay and made our way back to Brisbane. On our way we stopped in at a townhouse on the beach that Reid’s parents own in a town called Noosa. It’s about halfway between Hervey Bay and Brisbane. It was a beautiful place and we have a very nice typical Australian summer lunch. It was battered and crispy fish with fries (which they call chips), plus tomato with lettuce and bococini cheese, plus mango, avacado and swiss cheese, ham slices and prawns. I even tried the auzzie drink which is a ginger flavoured pop, not like our Gingerale, it was super different, but I can’t remember the name at the moment. The lunch was fantastic and Reids parents and friends were very nice.
Then we made our way to a National Park, which was basically a five minute drive away. We walked around there and saw some beautiful look out points and some surfers hitting the waves. It was a beautiful spot. Then we walked along the shops at the beach and I we got some Gelato. Mine was white chocolate and chocolate chip flavours. So yummy!
It was another two hour drive back to Brisbane. But we made it just intime for a crazy rainstorm. It’s super rare for them to get rain in Brisbane and it was an intense storm, lots of lightning and huge drops of water.
It was a great day and I’m looking forward to our flight to the north end of the country tomorrow morning. I won’t have internet for a few days so I hope you are all doing well.
