Red Hot Chili Peppers Live In The T-Dot!!
Last night the Red Hot Chili Peppers played the last of two sold out shows at the Air Canada Center.
The RHCP’s opening band was Mars Volta. Unfortunetly we missed them. The tickets said 7pm which we assumed was when the doors open, as that’s the case for most shows, but it was infact when the show started. We arrived around 8pm and missed the Mars Volta. Sorry Crys.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers took the stage at 8:30pm. The majority of their songs were from the new album, Stadium Arcadium. They did treat us to some classics such as Californication & Scar Tissue.
It was a very interesting light setup. There were gigantic rods with lights hanging from them. They extended directly out above the crowd from the main stage. For 99.9% of the show the lights were going with different colours which lit up the entire crowd for the band to see. Even from our side stage/nosebleed seats I still thought it looked great. I’m very glad that a legendary band like the RHCP would take such an interest in watching their fans illuminate with the beautiful, rockin’ coloured lights. They truely are a band that are in it for the love of the music and their fans.
Last night I was coming down with a cold, not feeling well plus we were at the very back of the nose bleed seats on the left side of the stage. Yet it was still an awesome show.
The RHCP had so much energy on stage. I was a little worried that their age would show and they would stand still on stage like Tool. But Anthony, Flea & John were all over the stage, while Chad smashed away at the drums. It was as if they were only 20 years old.
If you haven’t seen the RHCP in person yet then I highly reccommend that you get a ticket to one of their shows! They are a band that everyone must see!
